Importing 3d models
hi, new user of open brush and have a question.
Saw that it is possible to get 3d model on quest but have not succeeded in this. have transferred the models to the heat set (quest 3) via usb c cable to the open brushes media library for models. Tested the file types I read around can work like obj, glt and fbx. On the desktop of the computer it is fine to open the models, but on the quest the pogram does not find the models. The files end up correctly in open brush but are defaulted or not supported when they are opened in the program. Anyone have any idea how I could import the models? Iam runing on the experimental mode and understood also that the experimental branch is already integrated into the pogram.

Have you switched to experimental mode yet? I tend to forget which Quest features are experimental only because I'm mainly working on PC (and I've always got experimental mode turned on)
We really need to ditch it entirely for the next release...
Thanks, got it working after I restarted the headset and approved adding files 🙂
Hello, I cant upload obj models, the program says they are fbx and are unsupported 😦 I tried to disable experimental mode, and also enable it again. but its the same. I attached some info about the version im using and also the error that is shown. If you can help me would be awesome! @andybak

Oh, Im using a Quest 3
You can use .glb or .gltf on the Quest but we don't support .fbx or .obj (Obj is a pretty ancient format in any case - there are better formats to use nowadays)
ok! I will try with .glb 🙂 Thanks for your fast response! By the way I was following the documentation where it says its supported obj. https://docs.openbrush.app/user-guide/importing-images-videos-3d-models 🥲
I just added this info into the documentation 🙃
Cool. Thanks!
actually - it's more that fbx and obj are only supported on PC. I'll change that to be clearer.
