a few questions guys
a few questions guys
1. I've generated a ground, converted it to a static mesh and then to nanite (all works), but when I use physics tool the objects just go through it and land somewhere below it; any way to fix it?
2. when using surface scatter, the tool does not take into consideration the sizes of each object, right? I'm scattering various camping tents and want them dense, but even at lower densities they sometimes intersect with each other and I can't find a way to stop them from doing it
2a. when surface scattering among already scattered stuff (say umbrealls between the tents) the proximity tool seems to ignore the scattered camp (but it does work with path scattered assets somehow) - is it a bug or deliberate?

On point 1, could you attach a video showing your workflow?
On point 2, we're looking into making scatter have the option to avoid collisions with scattered objects. Not sure when it'll happen, but it's been requested several times. 🙂
On 2a, a video would definitely help illustrate what's happening.
actually I used the physics tool to turn ground into complex collision and static object and it works, sorry for asking too soon
on 2a
I've scattered stuff and say have "Surface Scatter 0" object. now I want to scatter more stuff but make sure it's placed in between the already scattered stuff. If I select "Surface Scatter 0" as a proximity, it now works, but again it doesn't consider the actual geometry (probably just a pivot point or something), so it gets spawned inside originally scattered objects
does it make sense?)
It makes sense, and I guess even though you increased the proximity, some of them spawns inside the originally scattered objects?
Are you using proximity mask or object mask? you could try the other one and see if playing with that and those settings help you out 🙂
and regarding your accidental delete of object, yes there are some undo limitations unfortunately. We generally recommend that those objects are placed somewhere where you do not accidently delete them, but ofc this is something we want to fix, but no ETA on it just now. 🙂
And if you manage to replicate a situation where you loose connection in another weird way, please let us know and we can try to figure out the reason! 🙂
