surface stramgeness

Has anyone had this happen to them? The surface is otherwise very nice except for that line which looks like it follows the deck shape.

It's called ringing, ghosting, or rippling. Input shaping can fix or reduce it.

How fast are you printing?

Perimeters around 100mm/s I don't think that's what it is. There are NO other indications of ghoting or ringing anywhere else. And the shape of that artifact follows the contour of the boat decking. Maybe the filament is being pushed out ?? Somehow? The other side of the boat is flawless...

Ghosting follows the contour of some aspect of the print. Looks like ghosting to me. 🤷‍♂️

I had a few benchies with a similar artifact problem on the front like that. My problem was a simple fix. I over compensated the hot end temp to the speed I was printing at. I lowered the temp 10 degrees and it went away. The higher temp didn't show any problems anywhere else on the print, just around the bow.

That's very bizarre, but I'll give it a shot

I don't think its ghosting or ringing. Those only happen in the x-y direction and generally have several periodic artifacts. Like @outsider_dreams said it looks like it is following the contour of the inner features, that get "pushed" out onto the surface of the outer walls. Tuning your extrusion multiplier and pressure advance (again?) might also help, as the hole in the bow doesn't look perfect.
