Content Library not all assets visible + path problem
An just found out a minute ago that after closing and restart the project the megascans download path is not saved in the Content Library. Instead it goes to the UE Win64 folder.
See screenshots.

Hey @der_urig
Regarding your first problem, is it the same if you select the other categories on the left? just fewer than it should? Or is it the same assets visible regardless of what you select on the left?
Is it the same for the Polyhaven view? You can switch with the arrow in the top right corner of the Content Library 🙂
Regarding the second problem, was the CL empty after restart you mean? Or did it have some content(your pic 2)?
When clicking the path button after restart, it shows the Win64 folder for me as well, but it has not actually changed it, all my content is still visible. So it is not necessarily showing the current path when clicking that button, the button is more for choosing a new path, and it just shows Win64 as standard
Hi, Daniel. It's the same in all categories - the assets are the right one's, just fewer than it should. - Polyhaven looks good to me.
It's not empty. It's like you can see in picture 2.
Regarding the Win64 folder: Ok. This is what I thought.
Maybe the problem here lies in these documents folders. Because the Megascan assets in the content library are exactly the same ones that I used in these two projects in the UnrealContentLibrary folder.
hmm, thanks for the info. So these 32 assets that are shown, do you have them in another folder "UnrealContentLibrary folder." you mention?
Or are they there as well you mean?
Could you send me a screenshot/video of when you try to add the path to the external drive that has all your Bridge assets? Like how the folder structure looks for the folder "Downloaded"
In each of the project folders under the UnrealContentLibrary folder is just one file "scan_data.json".
I will make some screenshots. gimme a minute... or two.
Thanks for the video (in a DM)
Can you check how many folders there are inside of the UAsset folder?
For me that is the place that matches with my count of asset in the Content Library. I don't have stuff in the folders called 3d or 3dplant. So not sure if you have made some changes to your structure or if it my PC that is special 😄
There are 93 folders inside UAsset folder. And I never touched the megascans folder structure, so you could say either your pc is special or mine is... 😄
Hi!
if you check this file: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\PolygonFlow\GraphNLibrary\data.json
there should be a line like this: "library_path": "R:/Content/Megascans Library/Downloaded"
Do you have that "library_path" line in the data.json file? and if you do, is it pointing to the folder you previously set up?
yep. It is the right path... unfortunately.
gotcha, so to summarize it does save your path, and even shows the assets, it just doesn't seem to show them all, some assets are missing?
Yep. That's right.
Did you download these assets using the native Bridge plugin in UE? Or the Bridge standalone software?
Daniel sent me a video where you're browsing your folders, and I noticed that you have tons of atlases, which don't exist in the Bridge integration in UE, only the website or Bridge software, hence why they might not be detected. We're adding support for them as we speak, fwiw.
But right now, the assets we detect are the ones you've downloaded from the Bridge integration in UE, not the standalone or website.
yep. The atlasses I downloaded via the standalone software.
yeah that explains it 🙂 you got any assets you've downloaded from the UE Bridge, but that still don't show up in our content browser?
I will check it.
After a fast look: Yep, I think that's the point. There are many assets I downloaded months before I got Dash.
Gotcha! Any assets you download in the Bridge UE plugin will immediately show up in Dash 🙂 so that would be the recommended next step.
Let me know if there's anything else we can help with 🙏
