I’m glad someone said it before I could
Best in the game
Love the look of some basic jackets, but doubting my ruggedness & being able to pull one off. Maybe a mid-life crisis purchase
Falcon Garments is recommended a lot, but I think MTM is generally a bad idea as usual unless you truly do know what you want
Leathers are a great chance to either really splurge or find something cool used/vintage
I’m a big fan of avirex a-2 jackets
the new schott x 3sixteen was very nice, I like the cleaner look of that jacket. I’m not sure if I love the gold but I understand why they did it and it’s a neat detail
Valstar Shearlings are 🔥
don't have any yet but I've handled a lot, would love to start out with a vintage Perfecto or a wacky color from the 70s-80s (purple, green, etc.)
vintage is for sure my pick here, Schott and Avirex being my faves. bought my first leather jacket this year and it’s a vintage Schott flight jacket 😌
was really reasonably priced on Ebay too
bad pic but:
Leather jackets have been my greatest money pit in clothing. I’ve spent an ungodly amount of money over the years in a search for a RTW one that fit my shoulders and chest, but also had a good sleeve length only to finally admit to myself that I should just go custom. Currently planning to order a custom one from Addict this next year, and possibly one from Thedi or Field Leathers. I’d eventually love to try Savas as well, but their MTM or bespoke pricing is pretty nutty. Here’s a few pictures of some jackets I’ve owned and passed along. Alas, this isn’t even a full list of leathers I’ve owned 🥲
i've always seen leather jackets as very distant to me but honestly one of those days im itching to explore it
Rider's aren't really my thing but Classic Bombers like the A-2 rock. So much variety in leather jackets, theres almost certainly a style for everyone.
The price is what keeps me from getting one though
The variety in leather jackets is one of the best things about them. A-2s are not my style, but they’re super cool and I love a good fit with a bomber
Not the Blackmeans 😭😭😭
Fucking sick jacket. Just too small in shoulders 😭
I want one so bad but I’m like you. Chest, shoulder and sleeve are super hard to find
Chest and sleeves were honestly ideal
NOOOO that’s my biggest fear and why I haven’t bought one
Except I’m more interested in the knit sleeve ones so maybe I’ll have some leeway
Eh their shoulders are super narrow. The one I had was like 18.5 inches for a 44 chest
Here’s a jacket from Attractions that wouldn’t fit me, but has been living rent-free in my head
Blistered lamb bauhaus is my favorite, havent worn it in years though
Blistered lamb texture is nutty
Blistered lamb texture is
She’s beautiful
I want to pet it
A lot of times I feel like leather jackets announce themselves so I'm really drawn to more understated pieces. I love the clean lines and subtle sheen of this fine creek deerskin jacket
i am so sad i dont fit into my 1950s black rouble rider d pocket
Ah shit we got the 5 Zip!!!
Layering with the q10 lmao
Blistered lamb seems like a good fit for a Bauhaus, I had a stooges in it and it was too floppy
q10 sees much more use still, i thought the zippers looked close enough to pair in 2018
just a little over a year ago i picked up this old levi's suede trucker jacket for about 80 dollars. at the time i thought it was just a really sick jacket that was really close to what i was looking for, but i got curious about its age and dated it back to most likely mid 70s due to the cut of the jacket and the date the first and only levis factory opened in australia.
before finding it, i had been keeping an eye out for a suede jacket, inspired by a favourite artist of mine. and then only a couple of weeks later i find an almost identical levis suede trucker jacket save for the plain black leather collar.
this is also the jacket that really honed in my style. i loved it so much i pretty much just started building a wardrobe it and its vibe. before that i was meandering about, trying many different styles.
this is the image that inspired the search for the suede trucker. i joke that i manifested the one that i found bc of how close it is to it.
it's worth quite a bit more than i bought it for, especially due to its pretty great condition relative to its age, but i cant ever imagine selling it.
i like the snap buttons of yours more than the ones on your inspo pic even, badass jacket
thank you! i think i like mine more too hehe
You're not the only one lol
my concept leather set sourced horween x maverick leathers and it’s my favorite to wear these days, followed by my bates 60s highwayman jacket in yellow, and a vanson commando i’ve had since i started riding
personal grails would be an orange lewis leathers lightning, real mccoy’s buco repro, and a junya vanson
I'd counter with Hammered Lamb
Oiled Lamb also good
Hammered Lamb High-Neck Crust Intarsia is my favorite and the only Rick leather through the years I've decided to keep
