How can i interpret this...

Recently fired up my V3 500 and installed ratos2.0 , trying to figure out whats the issue with my graphs.

It looks quite good in my uneducated opinion :). There is something going at 125hz on the lower belt. 125 Hz is typically something on the printhead thats loose and vibrates. Run a resonance test as well Id give the upper belt a small twitch to tighten it, bring it up to the lower belt. A quarter turn maybe?

it could be my cable harness

I wouldnt know ... wouldn't that show on both? either way id run a resonance test as well

will do ty

still cant figure out whats happening at 125:D

Default EVA with printed parts etc? Is your printer unmodified? Other than that, it looks really good in my opinion PS. Were your fans running?
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
its the default eva3 nope no fans running

Nebulator•15mo ago
set your hotend to 50C, and partfan to 50%. makes them go BZZZZZZ! try again

i havent updated to the "ratrig" toolhead thinggy oky

the resonance test you can set a limit to the frequencies and only test 100 - 150 for example or wahts the upper limit ... 135? not sure something like that

last night i tried to either tighten or loosen the belts to get em more closely aligned but thats the best i could get in about 2h of fiddling:)) its a 500 afterall:P

Nebulator•15mo ago
I think thats looking good like that

continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
retesting now with extruder fan and part fan running dont usually go above 50% partfan anyway with that beefy boy of a cooler

Nebulator•15mo ago
fans that arent spinning tend to rattle, this prevents them from doing that and might reduce some of the noise youre seeing

yeh very marginal. So that wasnt it 😄 Im quite sure its in the printhead
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
think its the gears in the extruder(lgx lite) that rattle, started a print and if i hold a finger on the lever the rattle dosent happen anymore:))
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
is there filament inside?
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
yes but i found another issue, im redoing my belt path atm had a few overtightened screws and it was making noise now im checking for belt slapping while doing the resonance tests when they stop slapping the frame ill start tweaking little by little
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
Good work also check that the E stepper isnt disengaged
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
whats that:D
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
E stepper is the extruder stepper motor
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
wouldnt that prevent printing? i printed a calib cube
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
i mean before you start the resonance test, Im not sure when / if RatOS cuts the power to the extruder stepper but if it does and disengages, the wheels might rattle as you discovered. If power isnt cut, it means it keeps a certain force on it and it shouldnt rattle
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
ok i understand but i think i have bigger issues than that little rattle from the lgx:D so working on those 1st during resonance tests belts are hitting the frame and i found some info that they should be tight enough not to slap or slap v little so doing that 1st

progress so far

Nebulator•15mo ago
that doesnt matter belts hitting the frame during the test is oke dont tighten them to the point they dont do that anymore you'll be overtightening them
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
then i dont understand how to tell when they are 2 tight fml
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
hang on i have something for that need to look for it
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
So its not my favorite method, mostly because the measured frequency from a mobile phone is too inaccurate. But it definitely helps getting it in the right ballpark
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
and its free, fast, easy and doable 😄 Overtightened belts may ruin steppers, not just the belts. Theres a limit on how much radial force the stepper axle can handle

continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
upper slapps at 35hz and at 100 ish
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
I have a 300 and it does that too its only a test so dont worry about it go through the pdf it will help you get it in the right area, then use the belt tension graph to match them and you'll be fine
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
lower slapps at 50 a bit and at 90 but f small lets see what graph comes out now:)) ffs think i overtightened lower or mby it slaps less because of the belt path

I have no experience with 500 so I dont really know whether those numbers are reasonable or not
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
but if i wanna make the blue line go up i gotta loosen or tighten im getting confused tbh
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
tighten it. However, keep in mind both belts are linked through the printhead so tighen one also tightens the other. I usually tighten one and loosen the other
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
so i should loosen upper and tighten lower
Nebulator
Nebulator•15mo ago
thats what I would do, (without knowing how tight they already are) i seriously recommend you take your time and go through the doc if you havent already
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
did look at it ill try it ty for ur time anyway:D

Looks a lot better! still some difference in relative belt tension though
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
well figured whats causing the wierd belt tension differences the back of the EVA is cracked:)) right at the lower belt tension point now do i print a back replacement and keep eva3 or just go for the ratrig toolhead upgrade:)) well ordered a full toolhead upgrade, 1 it fixes my cracked crap(ill change the belts ofc with the upgrade) and i also wanna move to 0.6 nozzle UHF try again man you helped a ton, havent printed in about 8 months and its been tough learning new and old shit:) just wanna get the printer semi "functional" to print the toolhead mount 😛

Nebulator•15mo ago
Sounds good! Hope that solves your issues. Always glad to help! 😄
continuing-cyan
continuing-cyanOP•15mo ago
do you have the new toolhead? i cant figure out if its height is setup for the UHF or the HF someone from the toolhead thread replied its designed for the UFH setup so perfect:) i wanted to move to 0.6 uhf anyway

Nebulator•15mo ago
no i upgraded to the vzbot with their hextrodort extruder and replaced the stepper mounts with brs engineering motorblocks with built in tensioners
