Black Suit in the $1250 range or below?
Hello,
I have a wedding that was sprung on me and it's December 1st. My budget is arond $1250 or below, just need a black suit that can be tailored quickly and ready by the day before. Is something like Suit Supply still worth looking into? They have a store near me that I can go to, but if their quality has fallen then I'm willing to look elsewhere. Just looking for a recommendation on where to look. In the DC/nova area if anyone has any local recommendations.
Thank you in advance 🙂

suitsupply is decent if their cuts fit you
but generally navy is recommended instead of black
unless the dresscode is specifically black
Right, I have a navy suit but the dress code is black specifically
ah
then yeah, suitsupply should work well
Thank you, hopefully the cut will fit then. I am taller than average so I usually don't have much luck off the rack..
Usually I've had them made but we will see. Thank you!
suitsupply do offer alterations in store iirc
idk if that'd be ready before December 1st tho
Is there a price range where suit supply isn't worth it anymore? Like at X price, look elsewhere
I mean with your timeframe I think it's probably the best option under 1k
what else do you have nearby?
J. Crew and Brooks Brothers could be worth checking out if you have them
Umm let's see I just googled Suit stores near me and these were some of the results:
-indochino
-men's wearhouse
-halim cutom clothing
-suit supply
-wm fox & co
-boss store
_express
-tom james co
-brooks brothers
--hive and company
-charles tyrwhitt
theres a j crew near me as well
Okay cool j crew BB and suit supply are all close to each other so I can check all f them
Suit Supply got me a suit altered and returned same day which was helpful
That's great to know, speed and decent is more important to me than time and exceptional atm unfortunately
Think you can get away with a dark charcoal? :)
From this list suit supply
If the bride and groom specifically requested black not wearing black is a dick move imo
That's why I asked haha. Asking people to wear an oddball suit because they probably misinterpreted black tie might be a subpar move do I think it's worth asking "how black is black?" If it saves someone $1250. If they say "we said what we meant and meant what we said" then as with every other dress code, etiquette says either comply or regretfully rsvp no.
Don’t think so unfortunately
Thanks, went to them earlier. They said they’d need to order it in but hopefully it’s here by Friday or Monday so they can make quick alterations and be ready by the 30th
