Favorites Series: Fleece Jackets / Vests - Topic of the day 10/31/23
What are your favorite fleece jackets / vests? Favorite brands at low medium and high price points? What do you look for in a fleece jacket or vest? What brands have been great for them and what brands have really let you down? (Note: the Favorites Series will be running ~weekly as a new way of the outdated "Best X for $X" threads on MFA.)

The brand in the picture misspelled "Capital", that's embarrassing
Love fleece, like the ones from needles, manatash, and sundae school, but its just never one of the things i put on my list of things i want to buy in a season
think its the combo of the fact that the ones im drawn towards have funkier patterns that I probably wont wear as often and the fear of it just matting overtime
so comfy though..
Love the look of fleece. I’ve only tried a couple but I was kind of disappointed by the Patagonia one I had so I sold it. For my next one I’m definitely look for something soft and not itchy
the only one that I own that's not a free one from work is this overshirt-style one from LL Bean which I find myself wearing a lot and actually getting a lot of comments on

picked up a maroon vest in this style secondhand a couple of years ago and i love it. Brand is Topo Designs (they make great backpacks and luggage as well)
Smh these overseas fugazzi brands
Patagonia fleece vests/jackets:
Patagonia retro fleece:
i got this icewear (icelandic brand) longline one and i love it. super cozy and a lil more feminine
vintage shearling is also a good option if you're ok with fur (I would not buy a new shearling but yk), they're super warm and I suspect fabric fleece was created to imitate shearling
Why would you not buy new shearling?
Zach is vegan
Currently fleeceless but this Kapital piece is probably going to be my next major purchase
this isn't rly why (at least for me, shit I've still got a bisonhide couch and plenty of leather)
the fur industry is brutal even if you eat hamburgers
like I regret getting a shearling I like nearly 10 years ago because of what I've read since then
might not apply for all lambs shearling or any given leather but like the thought of it still makes my skin crawl
but anyways the synthetics are a lot better at keeping you warm

I like fleeces, and I’m big into vintage patagonia. The synchilla pullover is a staple, but I also have a mid-90s fleece lined vest that gets a ton of wear, and I just picked up a mid-90s Anatolia pattern.
the 3rd patterns great, but mostly cause my mind immediately interpreted it as chickens running really fast
Me too ngl
No clue where you live but they have that jacket at Tokio7 in nyc rn in a large if that fits you and you’re down for secondhand. Idk if they’re selling it online.
Has anyone tried this Stan ray fleece jacket ?
Thank you. Cannot buy it rn but I will most likely get one secondhand
I didn't know they made fleeces
Me neither but the pattern on this one is nice and I found it 50% off
I don't love the padding on the collar and arms, the pattern is nice tho
And it has a two way zip which every fleece should have
Thank you, they say the padding is here because it’s waterproof 🤔
I’ve been wearing snap-Ts for the better part of 15 years now. I wish they would do a retro-x fleece snap-T
What do you think of this one from Manastah ?
I grabbed one of these Varda pile fleece last year on sale. Probably not worth full price. Great overall with some nice details and some that could be improved
really nice colors tho
