Fit check for a wedding at the end of the month, dress code: a little nicer than a golf outing

Just checking if this is a nice cohesive fit for a wedding i’m going to. The pants are stand ins I will be using a nicer pair of OG-107’s that are currently being hemmed. Substitute options I have: -wide khaki chinos -black knit tie -white OCBD -brown tweed blazer (also being tailored) -black boots I’m very uninformed and bad at ivy and formal wear so please any and all advice.

Yah i disrobed already but i think i’ll try the black tie too and see how i feel. I thought the brown would just be a little more visually interesting Thanks GSH!

I would say that the OG107s are underdressed for a typical cocktail wedding, but "dress code: a little nicer than a golf outing" sounds like they want you to be less formal than a typical cocktail wedding. I think you're in the clear dress code wise

Yah i agree i think it will fall fine in the guidelines. That was my one worry

I definitely think either works just as well, but feeling it out may be good. Either way the fit fucks hard

I’d say try out the white shirt and see how it look. White shirt with black knit might be too much but a little contrast up top wouldn’t hurt but a solid fit nonetheless Where’s the shirt and jacket from?

Thanks LL! I’ll try it with white instead. Shirt is vintage BB and jacket is an unlined/unstructured uniqlo blazer

Next time you put it on, can you give the sleeves and the hem a good yank? I see what looks like two different sleeve lengths and a bit of crumpling around the main button on the sides, but that doesn't mean it won't go away with a quick pull. Can often happen as stuff just rides up a bit as you move around. Regardless of that, it's a perfectly solid, cohesive fit, even if it may have some technical issues to resolve.

Thanks gimp! Yah i think its good just rode up a little, i’ll give it a double check though!

I have tried to purposely recreate it and its honestly a gamble sometimes. Sometimes its beautiful, sometimes i look like weird barbie

blowdryer then some matte clay
The Real Digs ™
Blow dryer tends to give it a bit too much volume. Its a hard middle ground to hit for me

Have you tried a fiber product? I’ve always liked American Crew’s fiber.

Could also try a low-hold product with the blow dryer
