What is the best rainwear for tailored clothing?

I wear a blazer to work, soemtimes a suit if I am meeting with an important client. I've got a wool overcoat that works great for winter, but I am in need of something that I can wear in the rain during warmer weather. What has worked for you?

A mac / trench coat

Mackintosh (mac) coat or single breasted trench. I have an old waterproof Uniqlo blocktech coat which is styled as mac. Similar-ish to the one below. IMO raincoats can be overkill if it's a short or light rain. A tiny umbrella in your bag can be more helpful. Traditional macs / trenches used cotton ventile which is waterproof but not very breathble. Makes you sweat buckets.

I am talking about heavy spring/summer rain.

Mac or trench is definitely the way to go for warmer weather but a Barbour is great for the shoulder season

Ah. I usually wear my Barbour jacket in the fall and winter when I am not wearing blazers or suits; I worry it may rumple the jacket.

Nah it’ll be fine assuming you went TTS on your Barbour. Even if you sized down it’ll be fine - wool is fairly wrinkle resistant

True to size (jacket size in this case)

Would Burberry be suitable for hot weather?
