After cloning repo, opening in Unity 2021 has me enter safe mode?
After cloning https://github.com/icosa-foundation/open-brush and attempting to open the repo in the recommended Unity 2021.3.9f1 (and what the repo indicates, Unity 2021.3.16) as well as downloading Python 3, I am forced to enter safe mode with the following list of errors:
How can I open the project in Unity / resolve these errors?

Ah - the readme is out of date. It's definitely 2021.3.16 - I'll fix that.
Shouldn't matter though particularly. I'm installing from scratch now to check.
Yeah - works for me. Where there any other errors? I wonder if package manager is complaining about not being able to find git? It needs the git binary for some dependencies.
@skyguy0001 CSCore though. Are you trying to open the main branch or something else?
and is this windows or some other platform?
MacOS currently needs the x86 version of Unity - i.e. running under Rosetta
Hey @andybak thanks for the quick response. I'm using git and on
main
, just switched to 2021.3.16 on the x86 version on MacOS
Im going to look thru package manager, lmk if you have any other suggestionsDelete the Library folder and try again?
@andybak Errors drastically reduced but have some duplicate files.
Which CSCore.dll should I delete or rename? And for the other .dll?
The point is that this shouldn't be happening at all. Fixing it might just mask other problems.
Why did it work for me (and presumably everyone else) but not for you?
Sorry - turns out I confused Intel vs Silicon when opening the project the second time. Now opens without entering safe mode
Thanks for insights above guys! We see the same "CSCore.dll not found" error running Unity project with OB audio reactive brushes on new Silicon Macs (project & DLL work on Intel Macs). Git is installed but gather from above the Intel version of Unity is required on Silicon Mac... Any updates or suggestions re: more optimal workarounds?🙏
@andybak you, Mike et al. likely solved, or have on OB roadmap...but glad to discuss possible cross-platform audio input / FFT alternatives if helpful in next IMC+OB meeting:)
