Goodyear welted footwear with shorts
Any recs on Goodyear welted/ stitchdown/ resolable footwear to wear with shorts? I know handsewns exist (boat shoes, blucher mocs, camp mocs) but I feel like nobody wears those styles in 2023. I also know loafers/ bluchers exist but I can’t get behind the trend for whatever reason, I just don’t like how they look.

You could look at some of the funky stuff hender scheme makes? Or maybe aurora shoe co? Chelsea boots can look good with shorts too depending on the short and the boot
Assuming you mean derby when you say blucher your only other option is a sneaker that can be resoled
I like boat shoes, blucher mocs, driving mocs, espadrilles, etc.
Yep I think only option is a resolable sneaker, I may invest in crown Northamptons one day but they’re so expensive

Also boat shoes can still be pretty sick. Take a look at the visvim Wallace deck shoe, I’ve seen some incredible fits with them this year
Sebago, Yuketen, GH Bass have options for less money than the visvim Wallace
If you like any of the styles I posted, my first recommendations to look into would be brands like Danner, Paraboot, Diemme, Solovair, and fan out from there depending on what you like
I've done a lot of research and I think Crown Northampton, Goral and Allen Edmonds (only the Courtside) are good options for resoleable leather sneakers, in decreasing order of quality. I only had the AE personally and found it very uncomfortable, but I have foot problems so it may not apply to you

I've gyw suede derbies which should work well with shorts
Tons of people are wearing handsewns in 2023. And loafers/bluchers aren't a trend. Chunkier ones are trending, but loafers and bluchers in general have been worn for many decades
I really like to wear nice boat shoes with shorts. But get some leather ones, well built. The ones that i find ugly are the sporty ones.

I actually own those the paraboot Michael’s haha, I’ve worn those with shorts a couple of times but I usually wear them with pants. Gotta start wearing them with shorts more
Those are sick I’ll look into low top hikers, I have a pair of j crew cascade high tops so I’m familiar with the style, never even thought of wearing low top hikers with shorts thank for the rec
Np ! If you like that last look with the low top hikers (paraboot clusaz) you should look into popeye mag. That’s where I got that picture from & they should have some similar looks in their spring/summer books
High top hikers can work really well too. That third photo is the danner light boot and I’ve seen some real nice kits with them
They’re not gyw or anything, but I wear my Reese Cooper Wilsons with shorts all the time for easy casual gorp outfits
