Using the Quest Standalone when you're only familiar with PC VR
Alright New headset is apparently online and working now (Quest 2).
Don't have a usb-c port, so pretty unclear on how this thing actually works since I almost never used it. Unclear how it's loading, have both bluetooth and wifi active, no idea about how airlink works or if it needs to be set up somewhere or if its automatically on when bluetooth is active.
No idea how to download a file and transfer a test version into the game. Do we have a general guide somewhere?

Don't have a usb-c portYou can get USB-c to Micro USB cables or adaptors.
Unclear how it's loading,Loading? I don't understand
no idea about how airlink works or if it needs to be set up somewhere or if its automatically on when bluetooth is active.Airlink is no use to you until your gaming PC arrives. Your laptop won't be able to run Open Brush by the sound of things
No idea how to download a fileYou can upload files to the Quest via SideQuest or just via USB cable: https://www.makeuseof.com/transfer-files-oculus-quest-2-windows/
transfer a test version into the game.If you mean "run an experimental or beta version then it depends which. Switching to the beta can be done via the Oculus Website: https://docs.openbrush.app/alternate-and-experimental-builds/open-brush-beta-docs#_lnka1z4mzei7-2 (Maybe via the app too - it's a while since I tried.) To install anything other than the main or beta releases you need to sideload: https://www.uploadvr.com/sideloading-quest-how-to/
Alright thanks. Airlink is running from pc directly and passing to quest, got it.
My phone doesn't support sidequest (beta), according to the store page. Intent was to run an experimental version for testing. Getting a usbC-A or usb-micro cable is going to be a quest in its own right.
This leaves google drive (which has been a very long process the times I've done it here), apparently.
Can files be transferred to quest via bluetooth?

Use the PC Sidequest app. I've never tried the mobile app
[Edit: or maybe not, apparently my phone has a micro cable].. same one for charging it?
will plug it in and give it a try, seems likely
:Ok, so it requires a usb-c converter either way, and must plug directly into headset.
what files do you need to transfer?
I want to transfer some of my videos and reference art. Also planned to set up sidequest so I could run experimental versions
