Business Casual for Bigger Guys
Hello!
So, I am starting a new job and I am looking to update my wardrobe. I need to dress business casual; however, I do not like the look of button down shirts on me nor how they feel. What alternatives could I use to still keep a professional look while not prioritizing button down shirts? Thanks!

What don't you like them? Is it the button down specifically? Would wearing a sweater over them help?
A sports coat.
I tend to run hot and I get uncomfortable especially in warmer and humid climates. There is also that I feel that a button down makes me seem bigger than I am (which we are working on atm!) and I feel finding an alternative business casual look that doesn't use a button down would be something I'm looking for.
You could try polos? But you probably need a collar and at least some buttons for most definitions of "business casual".
Yeah. I mean specifically the dress shirt button downs. Would you recommend anything additional to a collared polo?
Unfortunately button down shirts are kind of the definition of business casual. What about them specifically do you not like?
I don't think button downs look particularly bad on bigger guys. Have you looked at regular or loose fits instead of a slim fit?
Button downs are also not really dress shirts necessarily. Check out an oxford cloth button down in a regular fit
You could also try to go for a bit higher rise on your pants. Low rise and tucked shirt is not a good look on big guys.
And sport coats do not have to be very hot, you can check out tropical wool or linen
