Mixed Reality Capture Advice
hi guys, I wanted to check smth with you please. Could you advise me please how to record vr mixed reality without green screen? I tried 2 apps I found online : liv and mixed reality and none of them seems to work. Liv doesn't connect to my iphone, mixed reality doesn't calibrate, both are in the development stages. I work on oculus, iphone and mac. Would be great to know if there is any other tool I can use please

@mikesky might be able to pass on some tips from @vr_rosie - I've lost track a bit. Last time I tried was using an iPad and a Quest using the Oculus/Meta Mixed Reality capture app. It worked but it was pretty flaky at times.
@.cryptocandy - Can I presume by "Oculus" you mean the Quest? Is that Quest 1, Quest 2 (or even Quest Pro)?
Yes I am using Quest 2
mixed reality doesn't calibrateWhat happens? Where does it fail and how does it fail?
it doesnt seem to work with open brush
Yes but that doesn't give me any information on what is failing. It used to work (I've used it).
Can you explain in detail?
I have done that in the previous fall 2022. Let me give you a small checklist to start with:
If you are in PCVR, you have to use SteamVR to connect with the steam version LIV with the OpenVR backend
check the following:
1. Are you using oculus link?
2. Are you using steamVR
3. Have you switch your openvr backend to steamVR instead of Oculus VR?
4. do you see the LIV virtual devices on your steamVR panel?
5. Are you using Mixed Reality capture mode in LIV
6. do you have the camera working in LIV (windows system will lock your camera to only one app)
Another option is using a IPad version, that require some iOS development tools so if you are going in that path, I may have to try it again and create a step-by-step tutorial on that
Nick's post encouraged me but I got it wrong maybe.
