lost my timex recently so I'm looking for a replacement, and maybe for a bit of an upgrade
looking for something with a quartz movement (crucify me, watch nerds), budget $150-200 max. i'm a fan of field watches like the hamilton khaki field (out of my price range obviously) and the timex expedition, which is what i wore previously. any other brands i should look at?

Todd Snyder
Timex Watches
Todd Snyder + Timex Watches. Featuring exclusive styles such as the Timex Marlin Watch, and the Todd Snyder Mod Watch.
Also, keep an eye on Tissot and Seiko models that may drop into your budget range.
Oh if u like the Hamilton khaki field watches, check out the citizen eco drive solar field watches
I rock a seiko snk393 as my daily and love it! Around $100
Hard to go wrong with seiko
that looks nice. didn't realize there were seikos around $100
I have an orient ray 2 I love as well
Not really a field watch vibe but I am sure they have something in that style
/r/watchexchange has been kind to me personally
whenever/if subreddits come back
lmao
yeah i want a field watch for the legibility and i just generally like the style too
Look around for a SNK805 potentially
they also go on sale often
Maybe look for a fathers day sale or something
I totally get why you would want a quarz movement
thanks for the recs everyone. might have to get a snk809 finally because i originally saw it like 2 years ago and thought it looked nice even then
Great choice!
seconding snk809 or snk805
good luck
Just get you a Submariner and be done with it forever. 🙃
well the watch arrived like 2 days after i ordered it so it looks like i am the proud owner of an snk809 now
problem is the band is way too big for my wrist
is the band too big or the watch itself
if just the band you can very easily swap for a much smaller strap
I have baby wrists so I'm used to this
if it's metal links, you can pop links off - it doesn't need to have all of them
i made another thread about it
seems i'll go the removing link route
at that price range I would recommend a "sporty" Seiko 5, they are really lovely
if you want cheaper options there are also many types of Swatch, if you dig them
A little outside your budget but another small brand to look at is general service time piece, from the guy that owns Tender. Seiko movements, cool designs, tiny watches in the age of massive wrist tankers
Ok it seems he no longer makes these...
GS/TP are great I have a fried eggs that I love. They are tiny tho, I got one of his leather NATO straps and it overwhelms it, but the black nylon looks right.
Oh no 😦 He still has some stock on the Tender site but that is a major bummer for me 😦
@wiggs.de I have the bowtie, I am wearing it today!
and yea I would've liked to have picked up another one at some point
