Rat Rig Minion Fan issues

I have 3 Noctuna fans I want to put on for the controller board and hot end (not part cooling). Part cooling works fine but controller box and hot end fan act like they're dead. Tried each different locations, different wiring. they are running on the 12V rail on the SKRat

well looking at https://github.com/bigtreetech/SKRat/blob/master/Hardware/BTT_SKRat_V1.0_PIN.pdf you are going to have a problem. You want to have * part cooling fan * hotend cooling fan * controller fan 1 * controller fan 2 * controller fan 3 that's a total of 5, but your board only allows you to control 4 of them

part cooling works fine it's the others 2 fans in the controller box dont work nor does the one on the hotend so do i need to specify the pins in config?
blacksmithforlife
* part cooling fan * hotend cooling fan * controller fan are all included with the pin definitions already. Have you verified the fans work? Have you verified that the board is outputting 12v?

verified fans work. the SKrat board has rails for jumpers for 24, 12, and 5v. the jumpers and the fans are connected to are 12v (they're 12v fans) No power going to it Shit Wait helps to turn stuff on... No dice Ugh wiring looks good just redid the wiring, same result probably yet another shitty BTT board
blacksmithforlife
did you test with a multimeter?

yeah no voltage checked the wire and nothing wrong with it
blacksmithforlife
upload a picture of your board and wiring

It's a rats nest (lol) because I'm still in process of some updates

In the one with my thump you can barely see the jumpers but all except the first are on 12v. All the fans I'm trying to run are 12v Nm the one without my had in the jumpers let me check something, something looks off with the jumpers now that i see the pic nm the jumpers are good
blacksmithforlife
yeah that probably isn't helping you. Clean up your wiring - disconnect things that don't matter for right now turn the power off - and disconnect everything that isn't * DC power in to the board * thermistors * fans you are trying to test

Now you need to get out your multimeter and test * dc power in to the board * turn on fan in mainsail interface and then check port is outputting 12v DC

I can't turn on the fans that aren't working Oh nm I see I gotta fix the fucking heater now
blacksmithforlife
add
[heater_fan toolhead_cooling_fan]
heater_temp: 10
[heater_fan toolhead_cooling_fan]
heater_temp: 10
that will turn the toolhead fan on until it reaches 10C

Need to fix this weak as fuck thermistor wire now
blacksmithforlife
You really like the word fuck don't you?

Apparently Ok fixed the thermistor I broke, trying what you said now so mainsail says it's spinning but it isnt. when i checked the voltage it was well below even 5v (like under 1v) so guessing board issue? tested on the 12v plugs These fans don't even work alone on my 12v PSU nm they work, helps to have the PSU on Still nothing on the printer Even the spot for always on isn't working I'm just going to swap this one
blacksmithforlife
and you verified the voltage in is correct?
extended-salmon
extended-salmonOP2y ago
It said 5v when it's supposed to be 12 I'm just exchanging the board Tired of putting time into this right now
blacksmithforlife
if your PSU is only supplying 5v in to the board, it doesn't matter if you exchange the board I believe that board wants 24v in, so if you are in 120v land and your PSU is setup for 220v land that could explain why the voltages are wrong

the SKRat has jumpers on 3 rails 24v, 12v, and 5v it wasnt working at all on the 12v PSU is 120v I just ordered some 24v fans keys see if they work Realized I had some 24v fans, same issue Wait nm
blacksmithforlife
But did you actually measure the output?

I did not yet 23.8
