it says its already added though, and I deleted the GoDaddy CNAMEif cloudflare is saying it is already added, then it is already added, please remove all the old railway related dns settings like i have previously said to do
I removed the old ones and was able to update the CNAME with '@'. I also changed the GoDaddy NS to (screenshot). Is this all that needs to be done?
looks good, show me a screenshot of the domains in the railway service please
im able to access on chrome but not safari, also desktop but not mobile. assuming will take time to fully update?
you have not added a
www
subdomain to cloudflare, please do that now. remove the www
subdomain from railway, re-add it to railway and then use the cname railway gives you
let me know when thats doneexcuse my ignorance...first time deploying so sorry if this is frustrating.
is
2sovzqv7.up.railway.app
the cname railway gave you to use with the www
subdomain?yes
and same for the root domain?
its using the cname value railway gave you for the root domain?
Yes
what usually happens is ill see the site live for a bit, then ill get this error
...cleared cookies, etc.
set the tls/ssl mode to full in the cloudflare settings
i did that. i also set up redirects in rules...not sure if i should remove those?
let me check, hold on
it looks like the first rule is redirecting www back to www, try removing that rule

works?
for now 🤞 does hoowaste.com load for you?
appreciate the help
no, dns hasnt propagated to me yet it would seem
is hootwaste just a site for you to learn web dev, or is that going to be a commercial service?
hey brody, its a project for learning but hopefully turn into something later
also, seems like its working now so really appreciate all your help
awsome, glad i could help!
Hi @Brody , I am using godaddy too, i saw the docs godaddy is not supporting cname for railway, any other solution ?
use cloudflare's nameservers
means i need to migrate all my godaddy dns to cloudflare instead?
actually cloudflare does that for you
but i have to choose one of it right ? either cloudflare nameservers or godaddy right ?
correct
choosing cloudflare's nameservers would be mandatory to using a custom domain on railway
is this only for the main domain? or it applies for subdomains too ?
its only for root level domains, if you only plan to use a subdomain then there is no need to switch to cloudflare
i need to delete all those dns records?
if you want to open your own help thread I'll be happy to help you there
thanks im reading this thread i change de records in cloudflare
and i change ssl/tls at full
if you are still having issues I'll be happy to help you in your own help thread
i need to open my issue in my own thread?
