Z Offset How to get it right?
PROBE_CALIBRATE doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

print multiple squares, only one layer
then tune your offset live with the mainsail buttons
after you get it right just click the save button and you are done
judging from your photo, you must go down with our nozzle

Hi @tracyb7734,
I am doing it a little different way but I made very good experience. Klipper documents say you should do the Z-Offset calibration while the printer is cold. I do not agree with that approach.
What I prefer:
Bring the heatbed to 85°C. That is between ABS/PA temperature and PLA/PETG. Additionally we heat the nozzle to 220° also a good value.
Next step is use a sheet of paper. Measure it with you caliper. Ofter you will the exactly 0.1 mm. With that information bring to nozzle to 0 - but be careful, don´t ram it into the bed. no place the paper between bed and nozzle. search for the point at which you can feel a very very very very very very light scratch while moving the paper. Now bring the nozzle down by your paper thickness. Save Config and restart.
Now you will have a good first layer if you bed mesh is also of sufficient quality. While printing a test like @Helge Keck mentioned, you can make last optimizations with baby steps. Should not be more that +/- 0.015 mm.
That´s all the magic...
I got it working right. Pretty sure it was a slicer problem. Thanks for the assistance.
