Belt path out of whack

So my belts are grinding, I have a picture of the aftermath and a small video. Does anyone have any tips on what could be wrong? Do you need any different views? https://youtu.be/78kLiacQCHU - short video of the problem.

oh great. misaligned 3030-extrusion then? good catch. that will be a great startingpoint for trying to figure it out. oh yeah, to keep it upright? there's supposed to be a standoff there. but I did not have one. If you have one lying around I would not say no. the design, i mean. I'm off to the printer to test what you said about the lock nuts and bolts.

I may be wrong, but isn't there a washer missing under the spacer?

thank you. I'm disasembling as we speak. and I've found a couple of spare spacers.. lets hope its not because i forgot them 🙂

it looks correct to me. swapping out the belt now. oh man, I have to take a break and .. do my job. 😐 refitting the belt is of course.. not that easy.

is your bearing stack the right height? it seems that the idler sits too low the nylon shim seems too low also put a 30mm threaded standoff at the front corner and tighten the plate to the extrusions

I printed @e00nystrom 's 30mm spacer and I have a fitting M3, so this should work. I found a lot of spaces, so I can test again. Just have to fiddle in the new belt. I will update here later when I have tried some of you guys wonderful suggestions and spotting of my errors. 🙂

just from the vid...the idea that the belt is butt up against the top flange of the motor pulley is telling me you do not have them all aligned. Just like the vid view of the right side motor, there should be a tad bit of pulley visible above and below the belt between flanges (f-to-f is 10mm, belt is 9mm wide)

Yeah, I'm redoing the top of my printer. Any tips on getting them aligned?

as you move the print head manually.... watch the long runs of the belts. If they walk up down..... you know a pulley is high/low compared to the previous pulley in the move belt direction. see thread at https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/1077959936518148116/1077975203306545212 example ther of the belt walking (but for different reasons) do a search for 'belt walks' lots of conversations on the subject

I am also in the process of fitting new belts, I have now tried it with the washers as you have them, but the bearing stack then has play upwards although completely tightened. When I look at your video I see that your stack on the right also moves. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

for one; I'm not certain I have them completely tightened. I'm working on the printer now, though. Had to dissasemble the EVA to insert the new belt. So yeah, many of the other pulleys were loose, so I tightened those down. All looks mutch better now but I'm not done yet. Can't get to do any more tonight, will hopefully continue tomorrow. good call about the belt walk 🙂 Thanks @ptegler @newby3967 the stack was complete, but the bolts were not completely tightened.

It's better. I still suspect my frame is a little off as well. the belts osciliates up and down the pullies. I'm in the process of tensioning the belt. they are a bit lose right now.

how'd it go ? any updates. Did you reframe ?

I'm delaying it, since I have to order the enclosure 2.0 upgrade and some other stuff at the same time to motivate myself to do a rebuild. I got it a little better, but it still eats belts 😐

This looks like the extrusions don't meet. Frame misalignment would be the primary culprit for this issue. It's basically the only reason this should happen. That's also a misalignment on the XY plane, which is the most important one to have perfect. Can't tell for sure without a closer picture though.

Wouldn't the rail adjustment part compensate for this One rail would move to the right to make up for the gpa

that is the lid on the enclosure 1.0 so not part of the problem 🙂

I would be checking the extrusion below it.
