More Mesh than hardware - Normal overkill?

may move this post ... since it effect mesh mostly I'll post here..... I can noticeably measure the self sag of my VC500 bedplate. so I've designed a 'truss' with an adjustable center to minimize that sag. Front mount replaces the ball spacer, rear is simply bolted solid. The 'carbon fiber truss can free float (slotted holes) as the bed expands . the center vertical pin supports the sag. should be able to adjust as needed HOT or cold. what say ye' masses? overkill? comments? flames? all are welcome.

update! HEATED bed at 110°C (ignore the names in the pics...both were 'hot') pre-truss @ .196mm post truss @ .110 (couple of runs and adjusting) Notice the back center (x250,Y450) slight red/orange HAS to be the center arm with the two rear corners now sagging. He He... guess I'll redesign those truss ends and go full circle and see where we can go

i think this is a good upgrade. did you print the truss in CF or was it CNC?

CF cut on my router table, aluminum ends on my mill

that looks nice and interesting, as my vc500 suffers from the same problem

if people find this interesting, I could be easily convince to run a few off on my router table. I'd split the length of the arms as 500+mm sheets of 6mm CF are expensive. The split design did afford a simple re-design for the center captive adjustable support point. The aluminum ends are a bitch to do manually as I've not put together the toolpaths for my mill for such a piece part. But the CF parts, it's now just a matter of scaling for the router table.

Well I'm certainly interested. I've been fighting my 500 off and on for a year and am finally rebuilding it. Gonna loop back around to this when i see what my bed mesh looks like

minimal contact with the bed.... and slotted screws at the aluminum to CF joint so bed can expand without binding. then just the tip of the screw at the center. Rail clears the bottom as well. Arms hit the Z screw couplers before the boom touches the base panel. so no Z height lost
