TMC 'extruder' reports GSTAT 00000001 reset=1(Reset) after 20 hours of print (again)

I posted a very similar error before in the old fix-my-printer channel two days ago, but after orient the fan slighty to the steppers to improve the temperature, it gave me this error and stopped suddenly again.

Are the heatsinks attached firmly to the driver that is overheating?

Yes This error cost me 40 euros in filament in two failed prints, I'm desperate.

I would try switching that driver for another, maybe it has some flaw that makes it heat up faster than it should?

Yes, that will be my next movement It's possible that the extruder driver burned or something like that after a few hours of the extruder bouncing back due to a clog?
blacksmithforlife
I don't think so

Oh, ok. Thanks. I swapped the right Z driver with the stepper one And launched the same gcode for third time, fingers crossed

How are your fans now? Photo? Did you feel the driver? Does it get hot?

I placed the noctua just over the drivers, if a touch the heatsink I doesn't feel any warm

also not warm a few hours into the print? this seems like a new error by the way. The bit that indicates that the driver has reset is high now

I'll check in 2 hours

so it could also be a problem in reading the driver status and all the warnings and errors are bogus

From Trinamics datasheet I think its a faulty driver https://shop.watterott.com/SilentStepStick-TMC2209-V2-soldered I'm buying this

yeah, last time I already found it suspect that it reported both overtemp and openload why not BTT? also check the socket and its solder connections to rule out a problem on the main board

I hate chineses things with my complete soul after dealing with triangle labs Also I'm trying to run a business, I can't depend on lack of QA or shitty components After switching to the uncooled drivers mode in the printer.cfg and swapping the suspicious driver to the right z motor, the machine had been working like a charm, but a 20% slower charm So my next steps will be replacing the driver with another BTT TMC2209 (what a shame for me, but the "better" drivers I found have different pins) and continue using the uncooled mode for two weeks or a month, and then put 2 6025 fans pointing directly to the drivers and try the performance config again https://www.mouser.es/ProductDetail/Sunon/EF60252S1-1000U-A99?qs=r5DSvlrkXmJX5hMVK62Slw%3D%3D These fans

Any update?

you can easily add a couple temp sensors to the heat sinks of the suspect drivers. They'll show up just like your hot end and bed thermistors. A couple of us here are already doing just that, on 5160 drivers @ 48V that do tend to run a bit warmer. I'd brought this up before as it appears to be not be such an uncommon error. Klipper could easily check more than once, just in case it was an errant error and not a real issue rather than just instantly crapping out on GSTAT errors.

I've swapped the drivers, with the Z motor. re-crimped the JST conenctors. lowered the current to the extruder a bit, lets see now.

Hey, it was a faulty driver. After changing it, it never gave any error after more than 3k hours of printing And I have two more printers, none of them had the same error, so I asume that it was just bad luck
