❔ Should a beginner at webdev learn React or Angular for the frontend to go with ASP.NET?
I know that React is a little more popular than Angular overall, but i'm not sure what it's like for asp.net and .net developers.

whichever
i'd say react is lighter than angular
Depends on your goals a lot I would say, if it is just to say I know a component based JS framework I go with Seiba
As a beginner, I'd say learn HTML, CSS, JS first
There's way too many "uh, what do you mean 'jabbascript', I'm a React developer" devs out there
Don't be one of them
