The main difference between post office FDs and banks is the extra layer of security the former has and the slightly higher int rate post office offers on average while banks are more convenient right?

Why is the XIRR so high here? I only bought these MFs a few days back
I looked it up and what I understood was it takes into consideration different purchase prices at different irregular times but still doesn't make sense why it's this high...
Solution:
(X)IRR is typically used to calculate an annualised rate of return for investments at different points; it therefore gives wonky numbers when the entire period is under a year. It becomes more useful as time goes by.

Hi, I'm 19 and I've saved 20k from various places and it's just sitting in my student bank account which provides very very low interest rates. I want to invest it somewhere where I get at least some decent returns. Also it'll save it from being spent on unnecessary things. I don't know anything about investing. If someone could guide me what i do with this money it'll be a huge help. I don't have an income and it's just a one time investment. Also I want to invest it somewhere from where I can...
Solution:
If you are a college student, then spending the money on courses, trips, and books will not be a waste.
Instead of trying to optimize the investment strategy for Rs 20k, I would suggest to use it as a leverage to increase your earnings in the future. Spend on things that will help you learn, help you grow and get a good job/start a business.

I have a question regarding this IRDAI circular (no.
IRDAI/HLT/REG/CIR/176/ 09/2019
): https://irdai.gov.in/document-detail?documentId=392476 In annexure I, the circular says the following:
1. On a review of the list of items it is decided to classify the existing ‘Optional Items’ into the following categories. - LIST– I:: Items that may be retained ‘as it is’ as optional items – Items specified in the list are the Optional Items to which Insurers may offer coverage. - LIST– II:: Costs that are to be subsumed into the Room Charges – Items specified in the list shall form part of room charges...
Solution:
Hi,
If you didn't take an addon that covers these items listed in various lists then you have to pay for it. Otherwise insurers pay for it if the addons are taken.

Hey everyone! A rookie here , need some tips regarding investment
For context I am 17 M studying in clg , I get a fixed money from my parents and monthly I save around 1500 or more after my expenses , I want to start investing early, ik it may sound funny of just investing 1.5k monthly but I would invest rather than wasting money on unnecessary things cuz I have a bad habit of wasting money , so the question is should I start my SIP or buy stocks in different sectors monthly ??...
Solution:
Don't buy stocks in different sectors. Buy an index mutual fund (like Nifty 50). These are cheap and track the largest companies on the market.
The issue w/ investing in different sectors is that you're not a sector expert and different sectors may move up and down wildly compared to a large-cap index which represents multiple sectors and is much more stable (since loss in 1 sector might be cancelled out by growth in some other sector). Also, you'll need to waste time with analysis which isn't worth it for such small amounts.
Note that all equity investments should ideally be held for 7-10years. Don't just sell things off if they're down a bit....

Will there be any charges in Groww App?
Solution:
Hello, I am new to everything here. I just started learning investments and mutual funds. I don't even fully know yet how they work. Alot of people said Groww is a good app. So downloaded it and it asked for so many details and I completed everything like an idiot including bank verification and PAN. But I stopped at aadhar KYC. Will they charge me anything now or in future? I am not planning to do any investment as of now as I am still student.
