Custom DSP Algorithm Implementation

Hi All, I'm developing a custom Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithm on an FPGA for a real-time signal processing application. The algorithm involves complex mathematical operations and requires efficient resource utilization. Has anyone faced similar challenges? What optimization techniques can be applied to enhance the algorithm's performance on an FPGA, considering factors like clock frequency, parallelization, and resource sharing?...

Why did you choose to use an ESP32 instead of an Arduino Uno R4 WiFi?

Hi All. I would like to add a Wi-Fi functionality to my custom PCB in order to interact with an ATmega328PB (master). Having done quite a bit of research, one of the simplest and cheaper means I found is the use of shields based on ESP8266 or ESP32-S2. However, there are so many models on the market that I would like to hear your opinions on what to choose (ESP-01, ESP-07, ESP-12, ... or based on ESP32-S2): ...

What considerations should be taken into account when designing the SerDes interface?

Hello everyone, In a project involving high-speed Serializer/Deserializer (SerDes) communication, I'm tasked with designing an interface to transfer data between FPGA devices. The SerDes operates at multi-gigabit speeds, and I'm interested in best practices for achieving reliable data transfer, minimizing jitter, and ensuring signal integrity. What considerations should be taken into account when designing the SerDes interface, and are there specific FPGA features or configurations that can enhance the performance of high-speed SerDes links?...

12/15 Office Hours: Grasping Commercial Firmware Development Discussion Board

Hi all, We're going to try a new Office Hours meeting time on for size this Friday, 12/15 at 13:00 GMT. The topic will be Grasping Commercial Firmware Development, and along with our new time we're also testing out ways to help us prep for events by starting the discussion before convening on the meeting platform. Please use this thread to post any questions, discussion points, resources, or items of note related to this week's topic and we'll address them on the call later this week. We hope to see you there! ...

High-Speed ADC Interface Design ?

Hello everyone, I'm working on a project that involves interfacing with high-speed Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) using an FPGA-based platform. The goal is to achieve accurate data acquisition in a high-frequency environment. Can anyone share experiences with designing a robust interface for high-speed ADCs on an FPGA? I'm particularly interested in strategies to minimize noise, optimize signal integrity, and handle the high data rates involved. Any insights or recommendations on clocking architecture and synchronization methods would be greatly valued....

What MCUs support the broadest range of networking protocols for diverse IoT edge deployments?

How do you evaluate the suitability of microcontrollers in terms of supporting various communication protocols, especially for diverse IoT edge scenarios?
Solution:
Each high-performance grade (ARM CortexM4 and higher) microcontrollers delivers what you need. Communication flexibility—when using common communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART), the load is upon the communication module. Sensor integration—the same case as the previous point. Power Efficiency—all low-power grade microcontrollers deliver this feature. Security protocols—most of the time when the real security is needed, you must go for a Secure element outside of the MCU. Scalability—all...

STLink Error: STM32F407 Discovery Failed to upload code!

Trying to upload the code on the STM32F407 Discovery board using STM32CubeIDE. When I connect the board to the host PC. In Device Manager the ST-Link detects means shows up there. This means the Discovery board is detected properly by the host PC. But then when I tried to upload the code it showed ST-Link failed to upload the code
