Olivier Comments - Answer Overflow

This was on a non-production URL where proxying is still enabled. I'd rather not share the URL in a public space but I can share the response headers for a sample 404:

The record is a CNAME on a subdomain. (We've observed the issue on multiple subdomains and domains.) All the 404s where we've managed to capture headers have 'cf-cache-status': 'DYNAMIC' .
