Noob Ubisoft Connect issues

Huge thanks to @Kyle Gospo getting me setup on my Legion Go, loving the work you've all done. Is it expected behaviour that you can't launch Ubisoft Connect from Game Mode? I have the launcher added and when I select it, I get the Steam splash as if it's loading but then nothing. I can launch it fine in Desktop mode, but that then means that the keybindings for keyboard etc. keep popping up in game and taking up part of the screen which when in a crucial part of the game is no fun. I also find that Ubisoft Connect will randomly forget details and will not accept on screen keyboard entries, has to be a physical keyboard.
