VRAM stuck to 512MB when using Auto option in Bios on Rog Ally X
My device seems to be stuck at using 512MB if the VRAM is set to Auto in BIOS (or via Armory Crate). This is what shows up in the dmesg:
[ 3.310931] amdgpu 0000:64:00.0: amdgpu: VRAM: 512M 0x0000008000000000 - 0x000000801FFFFFFF (512M used)

[ 3.311217] [drm] amdgpu: 512M of VRAM memory ready
[ 3.311221] [drm] amdgpu: 12192M of GTT memory ready.
[ 3.310931] amdgpu 0000:64:00.0: amdgpu: VRAM: 512M 0x0000008000000000 - 0x000000801FFFFFFF (512M used)
[ 3.310933] amdgpu 0000:64:00.0: amdgpu: GART: 512M 0x00007FFF00000000 - 0x00007FFF1FFFFFFF

[ 3.311221] [drm] amdgpu: 12192M of GTT memory ready.
Most of the games will crash, and sometimes gamemode crashes into a dark screen. Setting a custom value in BIOS helps and makes it usable again. I thought it was best practice to set it to Auto and let the OS decide how much it needs? I'd like to be able to use it on Auto because I use an eGPU when docked so I'd like to use more RAM when on eGPU.

eGPU not switching to external display on reboot
I'm setting up an eGPU running a RX 6600 with AOOSTAR AG02 on a Rog Ally X. Performance wise seems to be running as expected. I'm using the all-ways-egpu methon 2 and 3 but device is showing the games on the internal display. I have to manually run all-ways-egpu set-boot-vga egpu and then do a Restart of Display Manager within it's menu. Only then the device will start displaying on the TV connected on the eGPU. Rebooting the system while connected to the eGPU will not switch to external display unless I run these in the command line. After that it displays to TV but the Rog Ally X will show a very dark screen with an underscore at the top left (maybe that is expected?).

Unable to switch to Desktop mode
I'm running bazzite-deck on Rog Ally X. I'm having some issues when I try to switch to Desktop Mode. It hangs with a black screen and an underscore top left. If I leave it too long (5-10 minutes) it will eventually go to Desktop mode but Steam crashes and asks me for a login again. Rebooting or going back to game mode crashes again and asks for a Steam login. Sometimes after logging in on Gamemode and restarting it will keep me logged in, but I'm not able to go to Desktop mode and it will crash/reset Steam. These are the journalctl logs: https://paste.centos.org/view/bfc70a7e What I've tried that did not work. Rebasing to an older version (20250315). Using ujust fix-reset-steam One thing to note is that I'm waiting for my eGPU dock to arrive and went ahead and installed all-ways-egpu and ujust install-lact. I have not run either of those after installing. Could this be related to my crashes?

AMD eGPU with VRR/FreeSync on LG C4 TV
I'm looking to add an eGPU to my Rog Ally X when docked (AOOSTAR AG02 with a 7900XT). I'd like to go AMD since I want to have Game mode and do couch gaming. The cards I'm looking at support both Display Port and HDMI, but the TV has only 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. It does support VRR/G-SYNC/FreeSync Premium. From my understanding VRR won't work due to HDMI not approving AMD implementation of HDMI 2.1 but that should not matter because we can use AMD FreeSync using HDMI 2.0 at 4k 60Hz from what I can tell. The limitation would be that I cant go above 60Hz at 4K. Would a DP1.4 to HDMI 2.1 adapter work to achieve both FreeSync and 4K120Hz? Am I missing anything on this setup?

I can start it manually on game mode if I restart it systemctl --user restart [email protected] Desktop mode works fine and once I'm in desktop Sunshine starts automatically and I can connect to it.

Flatpak permission issues
Lately, I've been having some issues with running most of my Flatpak apps. It seems to be related to Vulkan and the inability to create files in /usr (which it shouldn't). I've tried repairing flatpak, tried reinstalling apps with system or user with no luck. I tried rolling back to F40 with no luck then rebased to stable again. Everything should be up to date (using ujust upgrade). I've tried researching with no luck, I might have to wipe and install bazzite again but I hope I don't have to go that route. Here's an example where protontricks fails to run:

Rog Ally X freezes when trying to put it to sleep connected to an external monitor
I'm facing this odd bug where the device will sometimes freeze when trying to put it to sleep (via the power button or the Steam menu). This only happens when it is connected to a TV via a dock. Same thing happens on different TVs and different docks. This was happening like two weeks ago or so ago and eventually went away on it's own (or maybe some update fixed it), but now it's back. The sleep animation will play and the device will freeze at the last second of the animation. The screen dims at about 10% brightness. The controller and buttons do not work. Removing the dock will show the dimmed screen on the Rog Ally screen and play the charging sound. The only way to fix it is by doing a hard restart (keeping power pressed for like 20 seconds). After the restart, the sleep functionality will work fine, but after some time it will freeze again. Sorry if this has been asked before, tried searching here/GitHub/Google with no luck.
