Creation of first Cloudflare Pages Project fails

Somehow I can't create my first cloudflare pages project. Via CLI I get:

✘ [ERROR] A request to the Cloudflare API (/accounts/MYACCOUNTID/pages/projects) failed.

  An unknown error occurred. Contact your account team or Cloudflare support:
  https://cfl.re/3WgEyrH. [code: 8000000]

and via Browser I just get a 504 according to dev menu. can anyone help?
