Decision to give up/continue Valorant
I alologize if this isn't a good place to talk about this.
Hello! I was a Music Student who decided to pursue Valorant streaming/content creation over my career choice.
Fast forward to today. I have now stopped playing and have a desire to start playing again. My girlfriend doesn't like the game because she knows I let it sort of take my college from me. I say I was passionate about it, but for many people, it was excessive play time.
So. I started on a trackball and hit high Diamond 3 almost Ascendant 1. Then continued to grind on a mouse for a little while afterwards. I have the dedication to improving and working on getting better.
However, is it a good idea for me to play again? I know I haven't had the best habits before, and honestly it isn't the best for my relationship either. My girlfriend has seen my playtime consume sections of my life before. I am wanting to play again, but it will likely grow beyond my self control again if I do.
What do you think?

I Believe Valorant Uses EOMM
Do you think you can influence an EOMM?
Hello! I believe Valorant uses an EOMM (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking) framework to keep players engaged with the game. I've personally put the game down, but I would like to know if you could influence a system like this to give you more wins by teaching it to give them to you.
For instance, an EOMM system uses AI to learn your playing habits and adapt the matches to best fit your style of playing. The catch is that it also adapts to make you feel like you need to improve at the game to keep you engaged.
So knowing that a (probably) EOMM framework is in the game, and that your matches are machine tailored to keep you playing, this means that the AI will adapt if it thinks you will quit the game to keep you playing.
My theory is that if Valorant uses an EOMM, then you should be able to convince the AI to give you more wins by following a simple model.
1. After every loss (yes even one) you take an extended break. Likely minimum about a week. This ensures that the system knows you won't play after losses.
2. After every win play for at least 2+ hours. This ensures the system knows that winning is important to retain this type of player and minimize churn.
3. After every unfair match you take a short break (minimum two days). This ensures that the system knows you value fairness.
If Valorant indeed uses an EOMM framework, then it's very likely that you can teach it that you will only be a 'retained player' if you're winning. The only way to verify this, is to conduct study in an active EOMM system with a vast array of players.
This is where you the readers come in. I need players to test this theory by implementing these 3 simple rules into their playstyle and posting your tracker.gg.
Feel free to add your findings below!

Create an unofficial trackball tournament just for fun
Just as the title says, create a trackball tournament just for fun. Would anyone be interested in that?
