the only odd thing I see in journalctl is this: 
Jun 21 13:36:30 corsair.lan systemd[5689]: Started [email protected] - Launch DrKonqi for a systemd-coredump crash (PID 6118/UID 1000).
Jun 21 13:36:30 corsair.lan drkonqi-coredump-launcher[6946]: Unable to find file for pid 9730 expected at "kcrash-metadata/.d82c28d3019847bda537e42b902c93d8.9730.ini"

It's repeated over and over for a three or so PIDs, but it doesn't seem to make anything visibly sad

I did rebase -> manual restart -> system comes up and boots normally, but eventually shows some red errors about a device being busy, then reboots (expected?) -> Reboot is successful -> KDE Login Screen, type password, log in no problems
