Trouble connecting Bluetooth Earbuds on Ally X
Update: in collaboration with a few other users across github and here, we've found a fix.
1. Go to Desktop Mode, and open terminal.
2. type in bluetoothctl and press enter (this puts terminal in bluetooth control mode).
3. type and enter: pairable on
4. put your earphones on pairing mode. I did manual pairing for this step (press and hold the small button on the back of my WF-1000XM5's case, with the buds still in them)
5. on terminal, type in and enter: scan on
this will list all the available devices available to connect to and/or pair with
6. Find your device's MAC address. It should list something that looks like "Device XY:00:AB:12:YZ:34 WF-1000XM5"
7. type and connect (whatever the listed MAC address is) - should look like "connect XY:00:AB:12:YZ:34"
8. it should succeed in connecting. It might seem counterintuive at this point but it's necessary - disconnect from your earphones from the bluetooth menu in the taskbar. Put the earphones back in the case to turn them off. You can try either of the following at this point:
9a. Put your earphones on again, and it /should/ reconnect to your device automatically, or
9b. Go into Sound Connect and pair as you would from the bluetooth menu in desktop mode.
Whichever you do, this time it should open a prompt to ask you whether you want to "Trust and Authorise device" upon connection. You obviously want that to happen, so that it remembers your earphones on its trusted devices list. Et voila! Problem solved.

Thanks! I also posted the issue on their github. I'll update this thread if I get any response from the team.

Trouble connecting Bluetooth Earbuds on Ally X
Update: I've tried pairing using the app, and also manually putting the earbuds on pairing mode, to no avail.
I've also tried connecting on desktop mode, and through bluetoothctl, and it's not registering - the GUI comes out as setup has failed.
I've also tried reloading the firmware module with rmmod btusb and modprobe btusb. No dice

This is on first pairing (never paired it before), so the earphones are on pairing mode
