Ahh ok, so doing Animal dog = new Dog(); doesnt have any technical benefits, but just makes it clearer for the programmer/reader that dog implements/extends the Animal class. Is that right?

ah ok, so basically the array holds the values of the "vector". How did you discern thouth that they were talking about an array and not actualy vectors here? That still is a bit hazy to me

yeah but you would have to calculate the expected value first and then "see" the mistake, but here the mistake is easy to spot already
