EasyTether / USB Tethering.
Updated to work again, Ive reseted both W11 and Bazzite, tried both our tutorials didnt work but I made it work again.
THIS IS FOR THE SEARCH ENGINE FOR OTHERS WHO NEEDS THIS. THE TOPIC OF EASYTETHER FOR BAZZITEOS SHOWS UP ON GOOGLE
Here is what I did.
Copy and Paste by doing
Ctrl+Shift+V
Step 1
Paste into terminal
distrobox create -n bazzitearch -i ghcr.io/ublue-os/bazzite-arch --init --root -- --privileged --net=host
Step 2
Download Easytether Arch Linux x86_64 (this is for AMD, there is i686 for intel but I never tried intel)
http://www.mobile-stream.com/easytether/drivers.html
Put the file in ~/Downloads
Step 3
Paste into terminal
cd ~/Downloads
Step 4
Paste into terminal
sudo pacman -U easytether-0.8.9-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
Press Y to install
Step 5
Paste into terminal
paru -S openssl-1.1 networkmanager
Press Y to install
Step 6
Paste into terminal
sudo systemctl enable --now NetworkManager
Step 7
Type or Paste into terminal
sudo easytether-usb
(MAKE SURE BY THIS POINT YOU HAVE YOUR ANDROID PHONE WITH EASYTETHER INSTALLED PLUGGED IN. It will ask you a prompt which you will allow)
Step 8
ping any active domain like google.com
ping google.com
to confirm you are connected
Ctrl+Z
to stop pinging
You may need to reset NetworkManager and Easytether to get it working
sudo pkill easytether-usb
sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager
sudo easytether-usb
hopefully this helps.
The point of Easytether is to be able to use your data from your phone on your computer device (this includes PC handhelds) without using any of your hotspot
If you are using PC handhelds such as Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or Legion go that has BazziteOS installed, you can get a mobile friendly Terminal called QMLKonsole
On QMLKonsole on the top right you can copy and paste saved commands which makes it very convenient without having to use keyboard or controller button shortcut.
For Gaming Mode, decky loader has DeckyTerminal where you can do commands there.69 replies
