Using other people's Modules within my own
Hi all, I wanted to ask what the normal approach for using other people's modules would be. I'm new to foundry development, and development in general if I'm being honest.
I'm making a module to do a thing, and to do that thing I'll have to implement a number of features that already exist within an existing module (under CC-BY-4.0 license), with only minor alterations.
Should I:
- just pretend that other module doesn't exist and develop the features from scratch in my own.
- Fork that module and modify it, then have it as a dependency for my larger module, giving credit for the original creator.
- Just integrate the module code into my larger module, giving credit.
I think legally I can do all three, but it still seems kinda rude to just use someone else's work with only minor alterations so I wanted to check in to see what the community thinks.
