Adding second steam library fails

PC: Moving from ubuntu.. I added my games ssd to fstab as normal. rebooted and its there on startup in /var/mnt/gaming. perms are good and everything owned by my user. When I add the drive to steams storage in setting it just does nothing. I tried and existing games dir and create new. nothing gets added. Stumped... Any ideas?
