I'm not all that sure on that, actually. I got a 7 day ban a few days after posting that despite not teleporting and only using the autowalk on the lowest two speeds on routes I'd actually use. I think it just detects the client's presence.

Is there a ban wave for PGsharp rn?
Just got my 7 day ban. Seems like it either detects the spoofed walking or the client itself. My phone's fairly out of date due to broken update data and isn't a flagship phone.

Yeah they're definitely scanning catch/spin history. They're probably also checking distance vs time according to real travel times instead of the cooldown. For example, from home to work for me would incur an 18 minute cooldown, but the trip takes about 45 minutes by car! It's already mentioned in the guide on avoiding bans that you should not do things in two countries in one day, which reflects how long it takes to actually travel there.
Now that I think about it, the cooldown system being as lax as it is may have been designed to catch spoofers. The cooldowns are calculated as if you were going about 70mph in a straight line between points so that legit players on freeways don't get banned just for playing while riding with someone on the freeway, but other than being on the freeway in light traffic, travel times never go that low. And when the distance nears or hits the cooldown cap, that's when the discrepancy between the cooldown and real travel time becomes obvious.

Hmm, I'd say autowalk out into town, using a route that follows roads, with it set to driving speed as if you were driving out, then set it to walking speed and use the stick from there.

The activity in a different country is likely what did it. There's a guide on avoiding bans and one thing to avoid is activity in two countries in one day. An autowalk that crosses an ocean is probably part of it too.
Are you in the middle of nowhere irl? How are you 2 miles from the nearest stop?

What all were you doing? Hanging around NYC all day despite not actually living there? Did you teleport to coordinates at all? It might detect the teleports themselves, the fact that you suddenly did something extremely far away before returning to NYC, or it may even detect that you're not following any kind of schedule. I'm really not sure but I want to gather data on this.

Yeah, there's a ban wave happening. Luckily I've been avoiding it. I stopped spoofing except to simulate short walks to nearby gyms, I'd have actually gone out to one near me last night but I got weird looks from my dad when I went back out the door for the Slowpoke event yesterday, so I spoofed it.

You have to jailbreak if you're on iOS. However you can only jailbreak certain versions, I forgot which ones and older you can actually jailbreak though. If you try it on a non jailbroken phone you WILL get banned.

But in order to figure out what those checks are, we need to know exactly how people are spoofing, if they have Campfire installed, if they're teleporting or autowalking, distances, when/where they go, things like that.

Is it true that Niantic are cracking down on rooted phones and PGSharp?
I'm wondering the same thing. I don't even teleport or force excellent throws, I just walk my character around town, catch stuff, and spin pokestops. I even make return trips home.
