Help with proper domain configuration when using custom domain
Hello, I am currently trying to link my Railway app with a custom domain I bought from Netim but I'm not sure if I configured it properly.
When I add my domain to Railway, I am only prompted to enter one
CNAME record. I was a bit confused about this so I watched a tutorial that covered how to set up custom Railway domains with Godaddy. The person recommended setting an A record using the Railway app server IP from inspect element/network.
This is my current configuration.
Record 1
Type: CNAME
Name: www.mydomain.fi
Target: xxxxxx.up.railway.app
Record Summary: www.mydomain.fi IN CNAME xxxxx.up.railway.app
Record 2
Type: A
Name: mydomain.fi
Target: 34.xx.xxx.124 (My railway app server)
Record Summary: mydomain.fi IN A 34.xx.xxx.124
It's been over 40 minutes, and my Railway app still says "Waiting for DNS update" for my custom domain. I'm concerned I didn't do something properly. Any help or clarification on if I did anything wrong would be greatly appreciated.46 replies
