What kind of IT role is most likely to get you hired first:
Also switching to new work (or industry) depends on a lot of factors, on one hand you wanna take your time and find the right fit (e.g. industry, setup, tech stack, culture, salary, benefits, perks), on the other hand you shouldn't be that picky if your resources are getting into red (e.g. you got bills to pay, mouths to feed).

I think what matters more is the direciton you want to be headed at. Getting the junior roles of both paths is easy, question is do you see yourself nerding out on operating system and cursing network vendors, or do you see yourself writing apps and cursing cloud vendors?
