Custom worker domain without migrating

I have found https://developers.cloudflare.com/pages/configuration/custom-domains/#add-a-custom-subdomain and realized it's exactly what I'd like to achieve, but I cannot find how to associate subdomain with my Cloudflare account, when just adding cname records to route53 CF throws errors. ChatGPT keeps just saying that I need to request this CNAME option from CF support, but there is no support for free accounts.
