Lululemon ABC pants questions

Hi, I’m looking to expand my pants selection from jeans/sweatpants and it looks like LLL ABC pants are highly recommended, but I have zero fashion sense so wanted to make sure I’m getting the right ones. 1. Fabric—is one specifically recommended or standard? (warpstreme, wovenair, stretch cotton versatwill, smooth twill, utilitech) 2. Fit—stick with classic over slim, right? 3. Type—“trouser” or “5-pocket pant”? I assume both are valid depending on circumstances, but is one typically implied when people recommend ABC pants? 4. Color—does the Basic Bastard suggestion of khaki/caramel/olive for chinos also apply? 5. Formality—are they too casual to wear in a workplace where everyone wears jeans, or are they about on par with jeans? I’d be wearing them with a pique or performance polo and black Vans classics. 6. Like New—has anyone purchased from LLL’s Like New trade-in program? It’s a bit cheaper than sale prices but I’m wary since it doesn’t list the fabric or type (trouser/5 pocket) for a lot of the listings, which makes it seem more like eBay than a clearance sale.

1. i don't really recommend getting these pants at all 2. yes slim fit isn't in fashion any more 3. see 1 4. see 1 5. they are on par with jeans (actually probably a step above, will pass in any business casual context whereas jeans won't) 6. n/a

even the classic fit looks pretty slim to my eye and not, in my opinion, all that stylish

The jcrew classic chino would also be better than the abc pants, if the giant fit is too wide for your preferences

Thanks for all the recommendations! I’m leaning a bit towards the J crew classic chinos but might wait for them to go on sale

how do you think you get better? natural talent? haha starts with looking at other fashionable people and figuring out what you like 🙂 also Should've mentioned these are usually excluded from sales. They currently have a 40% sidewide

Ahh yeah I was looking through that too, sad to hear the classic chinos will probably be excluded from future sales

there are certain high volume items that they know sell regardless (these, linen shirts, giant fit, etc)

Fit aside, the 770 is also meh for what it is. I'd rather go with spier and Mackay for a slim-straight chino at that price point.
