Potato Shaders
Im using the correct fabric version and I have Iris and Sodium installed and yet it crashes, why is that?

what launcher are you using?
the base vanilla launcher, i cant find any others that have the potato update
go to installations, edit the potato installation, more options, clear any text under the java executable field

make sure to set (your windows username) to the username of your windows userwhere do you find your windows username?

did I download something wrong?
launch a 1.20.5+ installation if you havent already and also change java.exe to javaw.exe
I did originally, it didnt work so i tried taking out the w, ill put it back

ok i guess the launcher doesnt recognize its own java lol
download and install java 21 from https://adoptium.net/temurin/releases/?variant=openjdk21&jvmVariant=hotspot&os=windows&arch=x64 (windows x64 .msi installer for either jre or jdk)
then change the java executable to
C:\Program Files\Eclipse Adoptium\jdk-21.0.2.13-hotspot\bin\javaw.exefor fabric, right?

does this mean the shaders were uncompatable

after joining a game with them
they do it with all shaders
not a shader incompatibility then, it's something else, send the crash report:
