Are display entities laggy?

Hello, so I'm starting to learn about the new display entities and see people doing cool designs with them so my question is how laggy are they compared to the old system of using armor stands? For example lets say I made a custom block like a vertical slab or something and used it for a whole build, how laggy would that be? I see a lot of potential for these but don't want to get carried away with them. Thanks!

Not sure if there're benchmarks for this, but probably will have similar performance impact as armorstands, as both are entities and have to tick Display entities however are made exactly for the use case you're describing, you can even stretch and resize them as you please In terms of making animations, display entities have way smoother movement To summarize, display entities should be your first choice in any +1.19.4

Display entities are known for running a lot better than armour stands @duolingo there Meg 4 is a good example of this.

Afaik is said that meg 4 runs better bc display entities move smoother like I mentioned The entities itself shouldn’t make a difference since meg 4 works with packets, they never place the entities in the world
