Im trying to use distant horizons as a mod on lunar client. on 1.21.4 but it says it needs indium to work with sodium. and so i got indium but couldn tfind one for 1.21.4 so i just used 1.21.1 but it still says it needs indium. and keeps crashing

lunar modifies the game with their own weird sodium
so i need to download the regular version of sodium?
DH doesn't work with custom clients. (Most of them anyway)
you need to not use lunar client
so i can only use regular minecraft?
or just forge
You need a modloader to use DH.
no wait
yea so forge>
Forge, Fabric, NeoForge (I use this one)
no forge on 1.21+
forge doesnt go into 1.21.1+?
What?
versions
of minecraft
it goes but like
everyone moved to neoforge
Yeah forge isn't supported on 1.21 and later
NeoForge is better anyways
yeah, neoforge's icon is a fox which makes it 10000x better
uhh lemme
se
try the modrinth launcher you might like that one
can i get a pic of what they look like
Why?
or prism if modrinth feels bloated

it can fetch individual mods and modpacks which is cool, prism can too

this is modrinth?
yeah it's the modrinth "app"
You can upload your profile from CurseForge?
i think so
idk, i don't use it i use prism instead
well excsue me yag
I think you should mark this as solved.
yeah
in a bit i need to test things
I downloaded ONLY distant horizons on 1.21.4 modrinth but its not working
im spose to just download it and then i see far away yes?
Do you have the mod loader?
allat blurry distant
you did make a fabric or neoforge instance right
uhh fabric
should be working now, it doesn't need anything else
NeoForge and Fabric should be in the same jar
i love jars
Okay?
idk its not working

Uh oh
Use the original version
Not the Russian/Ukrainian version
It might not be updated
I'm gonna try to replicate your problem
Wait
did you install fabric api?
@Corey
what in the world is that version
Russian/Ukrainian version
Modrinth
Distant Horizons ru-ua - Minecraft Resource Pack
Перевод мода Distant Horizons на русский и українську язык/мову
It's in the resource pack section????
lmao
oops
sorry
lol
forgot you can't swear
It's a resource pack....
OHHHHHHHHHH
I KNOW NOW!
@Corey
You have to have the original mod
The mod you have is a resource pack
Whats the command to load all the chunks around me
or like
Use chunky
all the chunks
everywhere
no
That would be too slow
/chunky
Using Chunky to pregenerate for DH is not recommended for several reasons. The first one is the swiss cheese that might show up when using chunky while DH is installed. The second reason is that it's pointless, as DH has a build in pregenerator that is better integrated than chunky:
- It saves space by only storing LODs, not normal chunks
- It is faster to use DH's pregenerator to generate the LODs than first using chunky to generate the normal chunks, and then using DH to convert the normal chunks to LODs
- It is part of DH, and therefore always/only called when DH needs it
- Chunky calculates it's radius in blocks, confusing the user if they are not aware of this
Distant Horizons' built-in LOD pregenerator is enabled by default, and can be sped up or slowed down by changing the
Cpu Load
in DH's settings, or disabled by turning off Distant Generation.
If you want to pregenerate both LODs and normal chunks, set the Distance Generator Mode to Internal Server
under Advanced, World Generator. This will of course take up quite a lot more storage space. Make sure you have C2ME installed if you want to use Internal Server, as the generation speed will be crap if you don't.
Note, this also applied to other similar pregeneration mods.bruhhhh
all the chunks?
That would take like a million years
im loading a custom map
and maybe need a whole building of servers to store all that lol
its 4k blocks all around
the pregen command is not available on the client, only on the server, so, instead, set the cpu load to max, lower the fps to the lowest you can put, and let it sit there with the game paused
oh it looks like you didn't mean that
dh will start generating terrain beyond the vanilla render distance by default
whether it does that or not is dictated by the enable distant generation option
the cpu load options determine how much cpu dh will be allowed to use, this is for all tasks, like updating or creating lod's, not just distant generation
doing this will get more terrain done in less time if you wanna let the world "pregenerate" a little bit
it will generate lods around you in the radius given by the lod distance settings, which by default is 256 chunks, thus 4096 blocks
@Corey Any updates?
@Corey Please mark the message that solved your problem if you do not have any more updates
Im hosting a big event with many people playing at once. if i make the players get distant horizons can i load the chunks for them or will they have to load any chunks for themselves
?
I think you can.
yeah the server will be providing the LODs
beware of the added server and network load tho
So I guess I need to move up to modrinth too...
And reinstall all the mods I've got...
This thread still isn't closed...
@Corey
Close this please
its not a huge deal if it isnt marked solved
