John Mayer-core - Topic of the day 4/13/25
We sometimes hear about how someone or some brand is John Mayer's style. What does this mean to you? His mix of Americana, Native-inspired and Japanese designs have been iconic in the fashion scene since the 2010s. Are brands such as Visvim, Kapital, and Yuketen part of your fashion rotation?

The fun thing about his style is that he not only wears those americana things but also techwear brands like acronym. he rarely combines them in a tasteful way but i think he could
I appreciate the role he has in getting a lot of people interested in experimenting with their style
He definitely is not like super intuitively stylish though. There probably is a version of his style out there that is really good but its not his version
unironically a good example of those "there's a difference between 'fashion' and 'style'" type of attacks you see on reddit and the like
i like that he likes cool clothes but it just feels like a put on to me; some of it's the principle of wearing Noragi While White but his fits feel a performative to me
Brutal but accurate lol
I think he has good taste in the pieces he picks, but I don't think he has good sense, as his fits and silhouettes never quite seem to come together.
much like his guitar playing and his music, his fashion is a good in theory but a bit crap if you look/listen too hard
He just wears what his stylist picked out that day. Trey from Phish is the same. Everything comes from Mr. Porter.
Yeah, he’s a perfectly fine sit-in guy for a house band but he will never have a signature sound like Jerry Garcia, etc.
He’s a talented musician but seems a bit of a prat. Definitely belongs with PRS. Seems like a nice dude though and probably better than any of us here lol
I definitely don’t fault him for not being the Mark Knopfler of his generation. There’s only one Mark Knopfler.
anyone who defaults to a strat automatically has no taste anyway, shouldn’t be shocked about his fashion being bad
