Gas mask

Does anyone know a site where can I buy a good quality functioning gas mask for dust, azbestos and chemicals used in old buildings and fa tories. I know this isn't quite the fashion qurstion, but I figured some of you guys here might now. Also, something not very expensive, I am not made of money lol.

Considered your local hardware store? Also decent PPE tends to cost a little bit, don’t cheap out on your lungs

Also keep your hands off of milsurp gas masks, their filters can contain asbestos.

Also, if you need to ask for a gas mask thats asbestos safe: Maybe stay away from places where you could be exposed to asbestos unless you know what you do/absolutely have to. Bc if you have to ask you don't know how to deal with that stuff.

And this sounds like you’re going urban exploring, if you don’t know your way around old crumbling buildings might be a good idea to avoid it. If you’re asking about respirators then it might be best to take a step back and reevaluate the whole equation

I have been to those kind of places already, the only thing is I have borrowed a mask from a friend, and yk, I don't to depend all the time on otherz to give those things to me. I would have asled him where he has it, but the problem is that the mask is not his, but his uncle. And I don't really trust romanian online shops Beacause most of the stuff you find there is bought from temu and sold as better product here. Yeah, that is common sense It seems that I can't acces the site

OP is in Romania Or adjacent @The rocker assassin idk if you can find them out in your area (though I believe they’re based in the EU) but MIRA safety is imo the gold standard of CBRN and PPE that’s available to the general population. I believe the Czech military OM-90 would be the comparable “generic” mask (but I think Mira just resells surplus ones anyway). BUY FILTERS SEPARATELY do not use any surplus filters, and if it’s a used surplus, check intake for residue, etc. Older surplus masks I’d avoid entirely.

if you want full face, this is the most economical option, it's solid quality and works with any 40mm filter: https://www.armed.eu/en/ochranna-maska-cm-6-cm-6m-gumarny-zubri/
Full face protective mask CM-6 / CM-6M, Gumárny Zubří | Armed
The latest version of the CM-6 full face mask is designed for a wide range of applications in both industrial and chemical operations. The mask in combination with a filter reliably protects the respiratory organs, eyes and face against the effects of chemical or toxic gases and is widely used by police and security forces.

if you don't want/need full face, buy one of these from 3M

the 3M masks should be available in hardware stores etc MIRA is quite scummy in their business practices but the gas masks that they resell for way too much in the US are indeed available in Europe from the original manufacturer and they're decent quality.

Thank you 2 guys so much, @Nacho; Savotta cultist and @warpweftwatergate , especially for answearing to my question directly, unlike other people I knew about MIRA, but they are kinda expensive for romanian standards This seems good I have to start to save some money for it anyway, but that is not the problem I need it for future urbex trips in july I think surplus masks are too much of a hassle and risk Buying it, cleaning it, buying a compatible filter And it is not as safe

That doesn’t surprise me at all lol
