Linen-Silk Suit, Summer Wedding
Howdy. I’m having a suit made for a summer wedding. Dress code is Summer Semi-Formal. I’m leaning towards the linen-silk blend in the pictures. Jacket would be unstructured, single breasted, peak lapel. Probably no pleat in the pants due to wrinkling. It’s an international wedding so I will have to travel with the suit. Besides wrinkling, my other concern with the fabric is the shininess. Could this read as too formal and clash with the semi-formal/casual nature of of the other suit elements?

Doesn’t seem too shiny in the images here
Especially once the linen has a little rumpling to it shouldn’t look too formal
Also: don’t be afraid of rumpling with linen/linen blends- it looks better that way and you’ll feel better not going insane trying to keep your suit sterile
My concern would be wearing what is basically a white suit to a wedding
