DXVK doesn't recognise Nvidia Driver
i'm following a guide to get a visual novel running properly on this os, as currently it only runs briefly before crashing at a random interval within a few minutes (https://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/r724ep/guide_how_to_hopefully_run_full_metal_daemon/)
so i used protontricks to try to install dxvk, and it sent an error message referring me to the driver support list implying that it doesn't recognise my nvidia driver (which i verified is 570.133.07)

i'm running a 3080, although i doubt that information is relevant
was trying to get it to run through proton hotfix and experimental, neither work
i couldn't follow the reddit instructions exactly because the first command returned
warning: wineserver not found!
which is why i went to protontricks as an alternative to winetricksThat guide is so old that I’d just defer to installing with Lutris and the latest GE-Proton and seeing where you end up
If you still need the mf codecs, that can be done afterward as needed
Installing with Proton or GE-Proton already has DXVK.
right, i haven't tried lutris before
will update this thread when i try it because my isp is being useless and if i have to download literally anything i'm screwed rn
well now i'm just confused on what to actually do
lutris thinks i don't have wine, and running through steam will not work as this is not a steam game
the warning in the config screen is a false positive
just set GE-Proton as the runner
it's running off lutris, but it's behaving the same as it did through steam
it crashes in the middle of the transition to the title screen, and also at one point crashed after the dev logos
lutris does recognise the game itself, as can be seen from it successfully providing a link to an entry for the game on the website
post a log from lutris
forgot to put it as txt
there
is this with running
lutris -d
in a terminal? if not, can you exit out and run lutris -d
in the terminal and provide the full output?so do i need to run the command while the game is running, or
no, completely close out of lutris and the game
it's giving me
then, run that command, then run the game
then provide the full output after it crashes
run which command? do you mean the thing in 2 to be written in launch options
lutris -d
this is for running lutris with debug loggingit doesn't continue running after the point i sent
oh wait
You cannot run anything in Lutris?
you meant out of lutris altogether
hold on
yea gimme a mo
technically the game freezes
it doesn't just quit out
can you post full screenshots of each tab of the config screens for the game in Lutris?
enable advanced in the upper right
okay
I'll ask for more if needed

ik dgvoodoo does nothing tbh, i just put it on to see what would happen
the game acts the same with or without it enabled
i'll toggle it back just in case though
You didn't set a folder for the prefix
set this for your prefix folder:
/home/bazzite/Games/Full Metal Daemon Muramasa
mk
new directory then?
ok yeah i see lutris has used the games directory already actually
so i presume i'll need to edit the prefix that gets output into that folder next
maybe, maybe not
run the game again, post new outputs
i should point out it wildly varies how long the game takes to crash
this is common behaviour with running it through steam
so this time i got far enough to skip a bit into the vn and make a save
