How do I get these annoying white streaks off my cotton trousers?
So these things just stay after I steam out the wrinkles and they never quite fade away. I know this is typical for 100% cotton but is there a way to get these out?

Did they show up after washing them? They look like fade/wear lines. Probably from the spin cycle in a washing machine. They won’t go away but if these are new pants they will become less prominent as the rest of the pants fades a bit.
Not that new but worn rarely. Only washed 3 times in a mesh bag. How can I avoid these in the future and does dyeing get rid of em?
I suppose hand washing them could prevent it
Dyeing would probably get rid of them. That dye is probably also going to fade over time
At the end of the day, your clothes are going to age/wear as you wear them. It’s up to you if you want to hand wash or dye them when all you’re trying to prevent is something that’s fine, normal, and hard to notice
Any reason why you need to get rid of the streaks?
I just prefer their look without the streaks and I’m just amazed how 100€ trousers can look like this after washing them in cold with 600rpm cycle three times
Yeah, even 600rpm is still like 100x the force of gravity and on a wet pair of pants that is going to crease them with a lot of force. This is why the denim heads insist on hand washing with no spin cycle.
How much you paid for the pants isn’t really going to have much bearing on whether the dye fades. That’s just kind of the nature of clothes
Even if it didn’t fade in the washing machine, they would still fade from you wearing them
Cotton isn't very good at holding dyes, comparatively. You can turn it inside out and see if it marginally helps, but it's common with cotton and more visible with darker dyes. This is a common gripe for raw denim.
More like the nature of cotton. I feel like we’re talking about different things here since these are only 8 months old and barely used (and those being during nighttime) so I wouldn’t count this as normal fading. It’s clearly the material and how it reacts to creasing / spin cycle
This is true! Next pair I’ll make sure to handwash. The tricky part is getting the creases put before they dry
Whatever you say big dog
If you feel it is worth handwashing those pants to prevent fading, by all means go for it
this happens new with most chinos and denim
its actually even more evident on the very expensive ones, especially when new
If this is bothering you a ton, get trousers made of wool or a tech fabric
Wool and tech fabrics are colorfast
I think I’ll get these next. The cut on these is immaculate so that’s why I’m sad 🥺
my jeans had crease marks after one wash, and they weren’t cheap, but I don’t mind the look
Your dyes will fade, your clothes will age, and one day, even you will die
if i machine wash my jeans i dont have it do any spin to prevent this
it does mean it takes 7 years to dry but

Be nice
I’m not going to die
