Pipe Troubles
Hey guys, I am having trouble with coal power and pipes... I get them going just fine and then I come back and they say NO POWER. Water is hooked up fine, coal is hooked up fine.... I am playing on a dedicated server with a friend. The only thing I think that could be a cause here is @Andre Aquila <Aquila Industrial> I do have the Pipe Throughput Counter on, but not currently using it.

Water is simply not going into the generator, or it does, then it stops. It seems to be specifically related to pipeline junctions.
Appologies so much for the ping @Andre Aquila <Aquila Industrial> this isnt your mod, the issue is with SNAPON by @SirDigby
So you're snapping a pipeline junction directly to a generator?
I am not in my case no.
So how is this an issue with SnapOn?
That's the only mod I am running that interacts with pipes other than the pipe flow counter which I am not using.
Anytime I put a pipe junction on, the pipe stops flowing.
All SnapOn does it let you snap to things it normally wouldn't. You can safely remove the mod if you want to test without it
ok, I will try to remove it and see what happens.
Dang, it still does it.
Now I am at a total loss as to why.

Now I am really confused, both junctions AND pipeline supports seem to stop the flow of water.
How are you connecting them?
Could be a headlift thing?
Well the first time I did a blueprint

But then I did it myself, and no its not a flow issue. I am not using a pump.
Extractors do give a default headlift but try putting a pump either way
ok
What's the best practice on height before a pump is needed?
I'm not sure, I just place them whenever I go up
Since they are low cost
Yeah, ok. Pump didnt help will keep troubleshooting
Up to which pipe is empty?
Are you able to record a video by any chance
yeah, should I use a blueprint or just redo this from scratch
so I can post it
Are you able to record you building the pipes to the faulty gen
yeah.
I will redo it.
You can see here, water isnt even making it past this support. I just dont get it, junctions do the same, even with a pump.
Already I can see you probably need multiple pumps there
ok, shit. this whole time I've been like, this has to be a mod issue but is it really just plumbing 101
Extractors & machines give a max of 10m heaadlift, after that you need pumps
the pump goes at the button

Mk 1 pumps give 20m lift, mk 2 give 50m
So sorry guys, lemme build lower and flatter and make sure thats the problem.
Totally noob move.
youcan put the pump her

in that little 90 degree bend
the extractor will cover the rest of the headlift up to that point
That's all g, it happens to all of us at first
Yup,
Fluid Dynamics in this game are rough lol
My motto with pipework is always 'when in doubt throw in another pump'
Wife says the same thing muppet.
I hear it a lot.
Thanks for your help folks.
Anytime! Pop back any time you have a question with something mod related & we'll see if we can help 😄
